Argentina makes final anti-dumping ruling on aluminum tubes made in China

On November 6, 2020, the Argentine Ministry of Production and Development issued Announcement No. 596/2020, regarding aluminum tubes originating in China and Brazil (Spanish: Tubos de aluminio sin alear o de aleaciones de aluminio de las Series 3xxx o 6xxx según Norma IRAM 681, sin conformar, de diámetro exterior inferior o igual a 130 mm, incluso presentados en rollo) made a definitive anti-dumping ruling, imposing an anti-dumping duty of 75.52% on products involved in China and 16.46% on products involved in Brazil. The announcement shall take effect from the date of issuance and shall be valid for 5 years. The products involved are unformed unalloyed or alloyed aluminum tubes (including coiled aluminum tubes) of the 3xxx series and 6xxx series specified in Article 681 of the Argentine IRAM National Standard with an outer tube diameter less than or equal to 130 mm, but excluding 3xxx series precision Drawn aluminum tube, this type of aluminum tube is a precision drawn tube (Precision Drawn Tubing) that has been annealed and heat treated according to DIN EN 573-3. This case involves products under Mercosur Customs codes 7608.10.00 and 7608.20.90.

On May 7, 2019, according to the Announcement No. 48 of the Argentine Ministry of Production and Labor on May 6, 2019, Argentina initiated an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum tubes originating in China and Brazil. On November 11, 2019, according to the announcement No. 1185 of the Ministry of Production and Labor of Argentina on November 8, 2019, Argentina made a positive preliminary ruling on anti-dumping of aluminum tubes from China and Brazil.
