Brazil has initiated an official review of anti-dumping duties on imports of seamless tube originating from China
Brazil has initiated an official review of anti-dumping duties on imports of seamless tube originating from China. This is according to a document from the local foreign trade secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Industry. The investigation was launched following a request from local producer Vallourec Soluções Tubulares do Brasil S.A. in December 2020. Brazilian authorities note there is sufficient evidence of damage to the domestic production of the said product classified under HS codes 7304.31.10, 7304.31.90, 7304.39.10, 7304.39.20 and 7304.39.90. Secex/MDIC has excluded from the review tubes used in extraction and oil and gas pipelines. The duties of between$1,009.29/tonne and $1,356.90/t were first imposed on 21 July 2016 for Chinese-origin imports of non-alloy seamless carbon steel tubes, circular section, with an external diameter not exceeding 374mm. The authority determined that anti-dumping measures will remain in effect during the ongoing review. The investigation period will run from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020.
