India temporarily cancelled anti-dumping measures against China-related aluminum-zinc alloy flat rolled steel products

On February 1, 2021, the Taxation Bureau of the Ministry of Finance of India issued an announcement that from February 2, 2021 to September 30, 2021, the suspension of aluminum-zinc alloy flat-rolled steel originating in or imported from China, South Korea and Vietnam Products (Flat Rolled Product of Steel, plated or coated with alloy of Aluminium and Zinc) are subject to anti-dumping duties.   

On April 2, 2019, India initiated an anti-dumping investigation against aluminum-zinc alloy flat-rolled steel products originating in or imported from China, South Korea and Vietnam. On July 15, 2019, India made an affirmative preliminary ruling on anti-dumping in the case, suggesting to impose temporary anti-dumping duties on the products involved. The tax amounts are: China 8.08-129.59 USD/ton, South Korea 28.67-122.66 USD/ton, Vietnam 45.35-199.53 USD/ton. On October 15, 2019, India began to impose temporary anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the aforementioned countries. On February 21, 2020, India made a final anti-dumping ruling on aluminum-zinc alloy flat-rolled steel products originating in or imported from China, South Korea and Vietnam: It is recommended to impose a five-year anti-dumping duty on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries. The tax amount is : China 56.48~128.93 USD/ton, South Korea 13.07~84.47 USD/ton, Vietnam 23.63~173.10 USD/ton, the aluminum-zinc alloy composition of the involved products contains one or more single or combination no more than 3% (by weight ) Additional elements. The following products are not applicable to this anti-dumping measure: galvanized flat-rolled steel products without aluminum, aluminum-plated flat-rolled steel products without zinc, and pre-coated or color-coated aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel plates (pre-coated SGL plates). On June 23, 2020, the State Administration of Taxation of the Ministry of Finance of India issued an announcement to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in China, South Korea and Vietnam from October 15, 2019. The customs codes of the products involved are 7210, 7212, 7225 and 7226.
