Canada makes a preliminary ruling on anti-dumping industrial damages involving hot-rolled steel plates in Taiwan, China
On July 27, 2020, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) issued a notice on hot-rolled non-coiled carbon steel plates and high-strength low-alloy non-coiled steel plates originating in or imported from Taiwan, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia and Turkey. Steel Plate (Certain Hot-rolled Carbon Steel Plate and High-strength Low-alloy Steel Plate) made a preliminary anti-dumping industry damage ruling, and the preliminary ruling was that the products involved in the case caused substantial damage or threat of substantial damage to Canadian domestic industries. The specifications of the product involved are 152 inches (3,860 mm) ≥ width ≥ 72 inches (1,829 mm), 4.5 inches (114.3 mm) ≥ thickness ≥ 0.375 inches (9.525 mm).
On May 27, 2020, the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated or imported hot-rolled non-coil carbon steel plates and high-strength low-alloy non-coil steel plates originating in or imported from Taiwan, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia and Turkey. An anti-dumping case was filed for investigation. The Canadian tax numbers of the products involved are 7208.51.00.10, 7208.51.00.93, 7208.51.00.94, 7208.51.00.95, 7208.52.00.10, 7208.52.00.93 and 7208.52.00.96.
