EU issues preliminary anti-dumping ruling on chrome-plated steel from China and Brazil

On May 23, 2022, the European Commission issued an announcement to make a preliminary affirmative anti-dumping ruling on Electrolytic Chromium Coated Steel originating in China and Brazil, and decided to take action against the companies involved from the day after this announcement was published in the Official Gazette. A six-month provisional anti-dumping duty will be imposed, ranging from 33.2% to 77.9% for the products involved in China and 52.0% for the products involved in Brazil. The tax rates are detailed in the table below. The EU CN (Combined Nomenclature) codes of the products involved are 7210 50 00 and 7212 50 20. The dumping and damage investigation period in this case is from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, and the damage investigation period is from January 1, 2018 to The dumping and injury investigation period ends. Stakeholders should submit comments on the case within 15 natural days from the effective date of the preliminary ruling, and submit a hearing application within 5 natural days.
