Canada initiates anti-dumping investigation on some imported thick steel plates

According to foreign media Yahoo Canada Finance reported on May 28, Canada Border Services Agency (Canada Border Services Agency) said that some of the thick steel plates imported from Taiwan, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia and Turkey were suspected of dumping, and have begun to investigate the products involved.

The products involved in this case mainly include some hot-rolled ordinary carbon thick steel plates and high-strength low-alloy thick steel plates.

The reason for launching the investigation will be announced on June 11. The preliminary ruling and possible temporary tariff rate will take effect before August 25, and the final ruling will be made on November 23.

If the Canadian International Trade Tribunal subsequently determines that the relevant imported products have harmed the interests of domestic producers, it will impose a five-year down payment of the first anti-dumping duties on the products involved.

Canadian company Algoma Steel Inc., which filed a trade complaint last month, is satisfied with the progress of this investigation, claiming that the five countries and regions involved exported a large number of thick steel plates to Canada at extremely low prices, Hurt. ”
